Heading into free agency, Shakur Stevenson looks to put on a top-tier performance against Artem Harutyunyan . The New Jersey-born Stevenson defends the WBC lightweight title against the German on Saturday, July 6, in Newark. It all airs on ESPN+ in the U.S.

Stevenson has held featherweight and super featherweight gold and beat Edwin De Los Santos in November for the WBC lightweight belt, all before turning 28.

The 2016 Olympic silver medalist looks to face Gervonta Davis and Vasiliy Lomachenko in unification fights. He will need to put on a stellar performance, at least compared to recent outings, as Davis did against Frank Martin. Stevenson is up to the task.

“I’m levels above Frank Martin. I think Artem is a good fighter, but he’s dealing with a different beast come July 6,” said Shakur Stevenson to Sean Zittel via Boxing News 24 . “I got a chip on my shoulder. Now that I got a chip on my shoulder, he’s got to deal with somebody that is very motivated. I’m coming to put on a show.”

Harutyunyan lost against Martin in a fight to determine a top contender, but “The Original” managed to get booked against Stevenson. The 2016 Olympic bronze medalist has seven wins via knockout, and the underdog is ready to cause a massive upset.

Also on the card will be O'Shaquie Foster defending the WBC super featherweight title against Robson Conceicao. Foster defends the belt for a third time, while Conceicao looks to win gold in his third attempt.

The Sporting News will provide results from the entire Stevenson vs. Harutyunyan fight card. Stay tuned!
