A worldwide computer issue continues to negatively affect flights in and out of Newark Liberty International Airport this morning. Hundreds of delays continue to create headaches for passengers as the airlines work to get caught up following the disruptions. News 12 New Jersey's Tony Caputo showed, however, that check in lines at Spirit Airlines have diminished considerably when compared to the backups from this morning. He spoke with a woman from Chile earlier who was trying to figure out what her next step is after her flight to Los Angeles was canceled. And a man from East Orange, who was hoping to make a 6 p.m. event in Los Angeles, said he headed back home after having no idea if he'll be able to get another flight to the west coast.

United said a third-party software outage impacted computer systems worldwide, including the airline. The airline said they resumed some flights this morning but expect schedule disruptions to continue throughout Friday. United issued a waiver to make it easier for customers to change their travel plans via the

Port Authority says travelers should not go to the airport unless their flight is confirmed. Port Authority posted that systems are not impacted by the outage but there are those airlines delays and cancellations. However, NJ Transit says services are not affected due to the worldwide outage. The company says they do have reports that some ticket vending machines may be impacted. They say crews are aware of this and customers who have an issue with a TVM will not be denied travel until this global outage is resolved and TVMs are operational. "
