Global tech outage still impacting travelers at Newark Liberty Int’l Airport

Customers who are still trying to check in for their flights at the Delta counter at Terminal A at Newark Liberty International Airport say despite shorter lines, many of the same problems travelers experienced this past weekend are continuing. Many travelers told News 12 New Jersey that they were just trying to get to their final destination. "When I got here I saw my flight was canceled and although they rebooked me, they wanted to rebook me for Thursday. Thank God they were able to do it tomorrow first thing in the morning," said Rachel Lovett, of Atlanta. "The counter person told us we would not be able to go to Salt Lake maybe until Friday and then somebody else came and said, ‘Look, we have an overbooked flight, and you can try this evening.’ That's what we’re doing now, six hours prior to the flight and I hope we make it," said Falk Engelman, of Berlin, Germany. They had their fingers crossed that they would make it to their connecting flight in Minneapolis. “We’re hopeful that it gets here and we’re not so hopeful that we’re going to make the connection. The airlines have said they are working with customers on rebooking flights and offering a one-time itinerary change during certain travel times. This comes after major technology issues caused the problems on Friday. The airlines are even refunding people for expenses incurred from canceled flights. "
