Fire damaged a building in the Old Baltimore Pike Industrial Park on July 12.

Firefighters from Aetna Hose, Hook and Ladder Company were dispatched at 7:15 p.m. for an automatic fire alarm at Tri-State Battery Warehouse at 107 Albe Drive. When they arrived, they found smoke coming from the building.

The firefighters located a small fire in a back room and had it under control in approximately 45 minutes, according to an Aetna spokesperson.

Aetna was assisted by firefighters from Christiana, Delaware City, Good Will and Wilmington Manor fire companies, along with New Castle County Paramedics.

    No one was injured.

The state fire marshal determined that the fire was caused by an electrical malfunction in a lithium-ion battery, which then ignited combustibles.

Damage was estimated at $75,000. The sprinkler system contained the fire and limited its spread.
