SouthWorks, Ithaca’s would-be new neighborhood that would transform an 850,000 square-foot former industrial facility on South Hill, is anything but a typical construction project. As multiple complicated factors come together in the developers’ push toward their target of first occupancy in 2025, they are currently looking to the Tompkins County Industrial Development Agency (IDA) to offer a payment in lieu of taxes (PILOT).
Binghamton man facing attempted murder charge after allegedly firing gun into ex-girlfriend’s apartment
A Binghamton man was arrested after he allegedly fired a gun into the apartment of his former girlfriend on Friday, July 17th in Johnson City. According to Johnson City Police, 46-year-old Grady Hunter Jr. went to the residence of his former girlfriend and engaged in an altercation with a male at the residence before displaying a gun.

Within minutes the giant blimp appeared over the Court Street bridge and slowly passed over the central part of this city as thousands of people watched. One of the crew members is a Binghamton boy, and he dropped letters to his friends as it went over. The dirigible then went on to Endicott before turning south.

FamilyCare Looks to Drop Excellus by End of Year
In a letter issued to their patients, the FamilyCare Medical Group says they look to drop Excellus by the end of December this year. “We have notified Excellus Health Plan (Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Central New York) of our intention to terminate our professional provider agreement on December 31, 2024.
