Newberg is graced with one of the top municipal golf courses in the state, but with that prestige comes the need for careful oversight by a group of volunteers dedicated to maintaining and enhancing that ranking.

As such, the course’s owner, Chehalem Park and Recreation District, has put out the call for volunteers for its Golf Course Clubhouse Citizen’s Advisory Committee.

“The purpose of the committee is to provide recommendations to the Board of Directors regarding the new construction of a clubhouse at the golf course,” a release said.

The advisory group, which reports to the CPRD board of directors, numbers five members who live within the park district’s boundaries, serve two-year terms and set their own meeting schedule. In addition, members appointed by the board must sign CPRD’s policies document, adopted by the board in January, as well.

To apply, download the application form at tinyurl.com/eu9juc22 and submit it in person at CPRD’s headquarters at 125 S. Elliott Road or email it to the agency’s public information office at districtoffice@cprdnewberg.org. The deadline for application is 5 p.m. June 21.

For more information, call CPRD Public Information Director Kat Ricker at 971-832-4222.
