MCHS receives $10,000 donation from Pilot travel center
PROSPERITY — Travelers who stop by the Pilot travel center in Prosperity will notice a new look and enhanced amenities after a curb-to-counter remodel. In honor of the location’s remodel and commitment to giving back, Pilot has donated $10,000 to Mid-Carolina High School to fund instructional supplies, curriculum and program needs for the upcoming school year. The remodel and donation are part of the company’s store modernization initiative, New Horizons.
Residents discuss concerns during community check-in
Last Tuesday, residents gathered at Willowbrook Cabin to hear from Rep. Jermaine Johnson from Richland County District 52 along with members from Gangs in PEACE. Rep. Johnson and Gangs in PEACE founder Torrean Sims moderated a community discussion with disengaged community members as well as engaged political people for the attendees to discuss community concerns and find community solutions throughout the State of South Carolina. Newberry College says farewell to Jason Taylor
NEWBERRY — The Newberry College faithful gathered on the second floor of Founders Credit Union Fieldhouse on May 29 at 6:00 p.m. to wish former men’s basketball head coach Jason Taylor a farewell as he leaves for a job with a Division I program. The room was filled with faithful Newberry basketball fans, members of the community, alumni, former players, Newberry College athletic staff and some Taylor’s family members.
