Five Wolves earn All-Conference Sotball Honors
ROCK HILL, S.C.- This morning, the South Atlantic Conference released their 2024 All Conference teams prior to the start of the SAC Softball Championship tomorrow. Sierra Brogdon was named All-SAC second team for 1B, Vanessa Wilson was named All-SAC third team for OF, Hailey Hill was named All-SAC third team for 3B, Cassidy Phelps was named All-SAC third team for DP, and Lex Glemaker was named All-SAC third team for pitcher.

County Council recognizes retiring employees
NEWBERRY — Newberry County Council held their biweekly meeting on Wednesday, April 17. Council recognized five employees for their dedication to Newberry County. Heather Chapman, who was unable to attend the meeting, was recognized for her five years working for the Newberry County Sheriff’s Office in the detention center.

Ritz Fest’s sponsored May the 4th be with YOU for Mental Health
NEWBERRY — As you may know, Ritz Fest is South Carolina’s ONLY annual suicide prevention benefit concert held the first Saturday in February. We raise money for the Jason Foundation, Inc, a non-profit based on Tennessee that provides training and resources to fight a silent epidemic, youth suicide. They offer one option for South Carolina middle and high school teachers to receive professional learning on suicide awareness to meet certification requirements To date we have raised over $11,000 for them through two events. This past February saw our second-annual event exceeding expectations which has caused us to grow. Ritz Fest has been adopted by the Newberry Community Players and now falls under their 501c3.
