    Five Wolves named to the All-SAC Women’s Lacrosse team

    Rock Hill, S.C. – The South Atlantic Conference released their 2024 All Conference teams on last week prior to the semi final round of the conference tournament. Ella Todd, Marissa Plumer & Madalyn Messersmith were named to the All Conference Second Team, while Cassell Richardson and Serena Elias were named to the third team.

    Ella Todd Started all 17 games and was the focal point of the Wolves attack line. Leading the Wolves in both goals (37) and assists (21), Todd posted a career high 58 points. Scoring six hat tricks this season, Todd averaged 2.1 goals a game and 3.4 points a game. Her best performance of the year came against Mars Hill where she posted a season high seven points after going 100% on her shots and scoring four goals and three assists.

    Marissa Plumer has been the teams ultimate Swiss army knife. Starting all 17 games, Plumer scored 18 goals and found 15 assists. Proving to be an unstoppable force at draw control, Plumer leads the team by a wide margin, winning 42. On defense she caused 20 turnovers and ranks second on the team in ground balls, scooping 28. This season Plumer solidified her name in the record book by setting three team records.

    Messersmith, one of the three 2024 captains was the backbone for this Wolves defense. Leading the team by a mile in ground balls with 45, Messersmith also put up a team high 25 caused turnovers. On multiple occasions Messersmith was a shut down for the opposing teams number one player. Defensively Messersmith played a mix of off ball and on ball defense, whether that be shadowing an opposing threat or shutting them down as they tried dodging her. Messersmith finishes the 2024 season setting two program records.

    After missing the first five games, Richardson climbed up the statistical latter fast to make up for lost time. In the 12 games she played, Richardson ranks third on the team in goals with 27 and third in assists with 14. For a combine total of 41 points, Richardson ranks second on the team. Scoring five hat tricks this season, Richardson scored a team high five goals.against Mars Hill and Lenoir-Rhyne. In that same match against Mars Hill Richardson set another season high in points with eight.

    Elias flew under the radar at the beginning of the season and made sure to make her opponents pay. Seeing action in all 17 games, Elias comes in second on the Wolves stat sheet in goals with 34. Finding five assists, Elias ranks third in total points 39. For Wolves who scored more than 10 goals, Elias has he second best shooting percentage of the team with .548. Playing on the other side of the field, Elias won 32 draw controls and scooped 23 ground balls.
