    Three Wolves selected to play in USILA Men’s Lacrosse Senior All-Star Game

    LOUISVILLE, KY. – Senior attacker Scott Reed, midfielder Baker Westmoreland, and long stick midfielder Brock Strong will represent the Newberry College men’s lacrosse program in the USILA Senior All-Star Game on Friday, May 24 at Widener University in Chester Pa., at 6:00 p.m.

    All three Wolves will play for the D1/D2 South Team, playing under the University of Detroit Mercy head coach Chris Kolon.

    Reed led the Wolves attack with 91 points on 69 goals and 22 assists. The South Atlantic Conference’s Offensive Player of the Year had scored six or more goals in seven games including two seven goal performances against Lynn and Tusculum. Reed was named SAC Offensive Player of the Year, first team All-SAC, first team USILA All-South Region, and third team USA Lacrosse magazine All-American.

    Westmoreland had a team high 19-man up goals, including a six-goal performance against Belmont Abbey that landed him a conference player of the week honor. Westmoreland scored 54 points on the season with 38 goals and 16 assists. Westmoreland was named a first team All-SAC midfielder along with USILA first team all-South region, and a third team USA Lacrosse Magazine All-American.

    Strong collected 32 ground balls and caused 13 turnovers. Strong had a highlight goal in the Wolves 14-9 victory over UIndy where he went coast-to-coast to give Newberry a 13-7 lead in that win. Strong was named a second team all-SAC long stick midfielder, along with receiving honorable mention USILA all-South region along with being named a USA Lacrosse Magazine All-American.
