HENDERSON, Ky (WEHT) – Three Evansville teenagers are behind bars following reports of a burglary in the city and a vehicle break-in in Newburgh.

According to an affidavit, officers with Evansville Police were dispatched to the 7600 block of Powell Avenue just after midnight on Tuesday.

Police state a 13-year-old was home alone at the time but was able to hide in a closet and dialed 911. Police were able to get the child out of the house, but no suspects were located.

EPD states the Warrick County Sheriff’s Office found articles of property belonging to the Powell Avenue homeowner at the scene of the vehicle break-in including a bank card.

Based on information of both cases, authorities were able to identify three suspects: Trevion Ogburn, Tyshawn Grooms and Jonte Rudd.

Police later obtained a search warrant and reportedly found several items pertaining to the incidents.

Warrick County authorities say the following items were stolen out of numerous cars: a Capitol One Mastercard, credit and debit cards, driver’s licenses, a social security card, a satchel, a wallet, a gun and ammunition.

All three were booked into the Vanderburgh County Jail on burglary and fraud charges.
