Cleveland Clinic doctor saves life of choking co-worker
STARK COUNTY, Ohio (WOIO) - A Cleveland Clinic doctor used his life-saving skills to save a co-worker choking in the hospital cafeteria. Dr. Harry Kourlis, Director of Cardiac and Thoracic Surgery at Cleveland Clinic Mercy Hospital, was eating lunch when Jaida Evans ran up to their table and was “clearly in distress” and clutching her throat.
Local workers help connect Navajo families to power grid
CUYAHOGA FALLS — Last month, four Cuyahoga Falls Electric System line- workers traveled to Navajo Nation as part of the Light Up Navajo Project to help connect Navajo families to the power grid for the first time. Launched in 2019, Light Up Navajo is a volunteer mutual aid program to bring power to 14,000 homes in Navajo Nation, across Arizona, New Mexico and Utah and more than 27,000 square miles.

CLEVELAND (AP) — Guardians ace Tanner Bibee exited Cleveland’s game against Detroit after five innings with leg cramps on Wednesday. Bibee walked onto the mound to begin the sixth, but winced as he prepared to throw his warmup pitches. He spent several minutes stretching and applying pressure above his right knee. After consulting with manager Stephen Vogt and a team trainer, the right-hander walked off the field and was replaced by Scott Barlow. Vogt said Bibee has been bothered by cramping throughout the summer, but not this early in games. “Tanner is a competitive kid and it’s hot and humid, so we’re working through it,” Vogt said. “We’re all trying to figure out the best way to prevent this from happening.”
