Seattle police arrest five teens seen running from stolen vehicles in new bodycam video
SEATTLE — Five teenagers were arrested by Seattle police after they were seen running away from two stolen vehicles, new body camera video revealed. In a blotter post Tuesday, the Seattle Police Department said officers responded to a reported vehicle collision and people running away from a stolen car near the Burke Gilman Trail and Northeast 65th Street on Sept. 12 just before 2:30 p.m.

Western Washington is gearing up for another round of rain and gusty winds as a weather system moves into the region tonight. Boeing, machinists union to meet for mediation for the first time in over a week
RENTON, Wash. — Boeing and the machinists union are to meet with federal mediators on Friday for the first time since Sept. 18. Most recently, the company issued a "final offer" to the union which did not go through IAM District 751 negotiators. Instead, Boeing released the offer straight to members and told machinists the offer was contingent on ratification by Sept. 27 – a deadline that was later rescinded.

It’s been a tough few months for many local IT departments. Last week, hackers posted a handful of files stolen from SeaTac airport on the dark web. A ransomware gang is attempting to sell a trove of stolen Port of Seattle data for 6 million dollars in Bitcoin – after the Port refused to pay up. The cyber-attack a little over a month ago snarled travel when it took down ticketing, baggage, and other SeaTac services. But that’s just the highest profile ransomware case in the Seattle area in recent months. A few weeks ago, the Highline School District canceled classes because a cyberattack had wormed its way into the local system. There was also a crippling ransomware attack on Seattle Public Libraries back in May, which put their book checkout and online systems in limbo for months
‘Violators will be abducted’ sign warns drivers not to park near ‘The Maury Island Incident’ mural in Des Moines for more than 30 minutes
A new parking sign – with additional, ominous warnings – was installed recently near the Maury Island Incident Mural in Des Moines, limiting parking to 30 minutes. The signage – located near the mural on the north side of Harper Studios (map below) – was likely placed to dissuade mysterious white vans and other vehicles from parking there and blocking the view. Many residents also felt like there were being monitored by whoever or whatever was in those parked vehicles.
