City of Lander Water Tank Project Update
This summer, a major construction project is underway just beyond the Mortimore Lane turn-off near Sinks Canyon. The City of Lander is replacing three failing drinking water storage tanks with a single, modern 4-million-gallon tank. This upgrade will enhance our total water storage capacity by an additional 1 million gallons. Furthermore, the project includes the replacement of an emergency pumping station near the hospital.

UW Planetarium Renovations Scheduled Aug. 5-14
The University of Wyoming Harry C. Vaughan Planetarium will undergo renovations and technical upgrades early next month. The planetarium will be closed Aug. 5-14 so that the facility’s two bulb-based projectors can be replaced with new laser projectors. In fall 2023, the planetarium began the procurement process to replace its projectors with a brand-new system. The successful search was completed in May.
