Precautionary Measures Underway Due to Possible Inmate Infectious Disease Case
Bernalillo County – Precautionary measures are underway at MDC after an inmate was discovered to possibly have an infectious disease Friday morning. While testing is underway, UNM Hospital staff are conducting contact tracing within the facility, to determine any possible exposures. Three housing units, including where the inmate was previously housed, have been placed on quarantine and full personal protective equipment (PPE) is required for entry.

University of New Mexico relaunching center to aid students in recovery
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – The University of New Mexico is relaunching its facility to help students recovering from substance abuse. The goal of the Collegiate Recovery Center is to create a peer space on campus where students can seek recovery support and resources. The center will also help students get connected with resources outside of UNM so that they have a community when they graduate.

The University of New Mexico Hospital announced wage increases on Aug. 9 for all of its employees who work at the campus on Lomas Boulevard, the hospital’s clinics and for many of the employees who work at UNM Sandoval Regional Medical Center – A Campus of UNM Hospital (SRMC).
