    Newcomerstown News: Spaghetti dinner and auction planned for man diagnosed with cancer

    A benefit will be held for village resident Kevin McMullen, who was recently diagnosed with multiple myeloma. The event will be held from 12:30 to 5 p.m. July 27 at the St. Lutheran Church. You can purchase tickets for the spaghetti dinner by calling Cheyenne McMullen at 330-691-9046 or Sierra McMullen at 330-401-4281. The dinner consists of the spaghetti, salad, dinner roll, dessert, and a drink. The cost is $10 for adults and $7 for children 10 and under. In addition, there will be a T-shirt fundraiser and a silent auction. You can also purchase a chance to win a one day charter fishing trip with Kat-Tagious Fishing Charter at either Lake Erie or the Ohio River.

    Health department pop-up shop

    The Tuscarawas County Health Department will hold a pop-up event at Medi-Wise Pharmacy at 2 p.m. the second Monday of the month and from 9 a.m. to noon the fourth Wednesday of the month through September. Residents can learn more about the health department’s services including WIC, Narcan kits, Cribs 4 Kids, and immunizations. For more information, call 1-330-343-5555 ext.1530.

    Pool party for splash pad

    A pool party and cornhole tournament will be held at 1 p.m. Aug. 11, at the Cy Young Pool to benefit the future splash pad. The cost to enter the cornhole tournament is $20 with prizes to be awarded. There will be live music, food, games and 50/50 tickets. Fo more information, call or text 1-330-432-7310.

    The next Second Saturday

    The next second Saturday event on Main Street will take July 13. A beer garden will be offered from 4:30 to 9 p.m., cornhole tournament starts at 5 p.m., Six Strings and a Fiddle will play from 4:30 to 5:39 p.m. and Floor Band from 6 to 9 p.m. There will be food, vendors, and children's activities.
