Coeur d'Alene kennel shut down after dog dies from apparent heat exhaustion
COEUR D'ALENE, Idaho — Authorities shut down a dog boarding and training facility following a dog's death from apparent heat exhaustion. Animal control officers responded July 24 to a report that a dog had died the previous weekend after being boarded at Faithful K9 Trainer in Coeur d’Alene. Founded in 2021, the kennel offered training, boarding, day care and grooming services for dogs.
Selkirk Fire responds to Scheider Fire in Sagle, multiple buildings destroyed
SAGLE, Idaho — Selkirk Fire responded to a blaze that spread to multiple buildings and surrounding brush in Sagle. According to Selkirk Fire Rescue and EMS, several agencies responded to the structure fire in the 100 block of Scheiders Road. Upon arrival, firefighters found multiple buildings involved, with the fire extending into the vegetation. Known as the Scheider Fire, the blaze has burned approximately four acres of land.
