“Usurpation” book launch and signing at Springfield UUC
SPRINGFIELD, Vt. – Please join Vermont author Mimi Yahn for the launch of her debut novel, “Usurpation,” on Sunday, Sept. 8, at 12 p.m., at the Unitarian Universalist Church (UUC) in Springfield. Set in 1997 and spanning two cities – Portland, Ore., and New Orleans – “Usurpation” tells a powerful story about gentrification, hardship, and redemptive love through the lives of two families, and the eyes of the novel’s historian protagonist, Kitty Feliz.
Driver in fatal Williston crash charged with gross negligent operation
WILLISTON, Vt. — A driver involved in adeadly crash that left one person dead in Williston earlier this month has been charged following an investigation into the incident. The Williston Police Department said Shaina Levesque has been charged with gross negligent operation with death resulting and gross negligent operation with serious bodily injury resulting for an Aug. 8 crash.
