Major improvements and affordable homes may come out of lawsuit settlement
Pompano Beach – The question of how to spend $9 million, the result of a lawsuit involving the county and city, is one step closer to being answered. The Residential Advisory Board (RAB) to the Broward Commission came to consensus at its Feb. 15 meeting at the Emma Lou Olson Civic Center and will make three recommendations to the county commission: Allocate $6 million toward life safety home repairs, $1 million for paint, fences, and pavement and $1.8 million for Blanche Ely Estates. The requirement is to spend the funds in the Northwest CRA District to address slum and blight.
