Out of the Pulpit: St. Patrick’s Day is a time to remember our heritage, no matter where your family comes from
St. Patrick’s Day, March 17, is not about drinking until you turn green. It is to commemorate the individual who introduced Christianity to Ireland. In Ireland, until recently, it was a day marked with the somber sobriety of Good Friday. In the United States the commemoration has become a celebration of the Irish heritage of many like myself. While my mother’s side of the family immigrated from Ireland in 1850, I know much more about my father’s family history in this country, as it began less than a century ago.

One of the five medical doctors on staff is Dr. William McRoberts, one of four physiatrists at the clinic. The fifth physician is an orthopedic surgeon. In addition, there are two physical therapists and two physician’s assistants on staff, says McRoberts, pointing to the fact they are probably the only spine practice with four trained physiatrists.
