Multiple detained during Siletz narcotics search warrant

PORTLAND, Ore. ( KOIN ) — Police detained several people in Siletz on suspicion of selling narcotics early Wednesday morning, authorities said.

According to Newport police, an investigation into a house on Southwest Buford Avenue in Siletz revealed that the occupants had been selling narcotics to people in Newport as well as other parts of Lincoln County.

Authorities also said they learned that the people in the home might have firearms.

At around 4:00 a.m. Wednesday, authorities said they served a warrant at the home, detaining multiple people, While searching they said they found evidence of narcotics delivery, manufacturing, and possession as well as a gun.

The incident is under investigation and anyone with information is asked to contact police.
