Do you have trash and bulky items you want to toss out? The City of Newark is rolling out dumpsters in hopes of helping residents get rid of trash and litter their communities.

Dumpsters can be found at city facilities throughout the five wards as part of the Department of Public Works’ “Love Newark, Keep It Clean” campaign that first began in 2019.

City officials say the campaign makes it easier on bulk trash day – which only happens once a month and limits the amount on how much a resident can toss out.

Officials say they will take just about everything except for oils, chemicals, paint and debris from renovations.

Residents who spoke with News 12 were thrilled to have more opportunities to throw out unwanted items.

"You normally do it only once a month, so this helps a lot," said Rolando Matos.

The campaign is only for Newark residents and runs two times a month on the third and fourth Saturdays from 8:30 a.m. until 3 p.m. through September.
