Whale experts are speaking out and sharing how people can take precautions heading into the summer.

A 44-foot whale was found dead in the Port of Brooklyn just two weeks ago.

The whale died after being caught on a ships bow, according to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.

Marine conservation scientists say residents can help by keeping an eye out for whales and dolphins and supporting rules that will reduce the risk to their environments.
