Memorial Day honors those who made the ultimate sacrifice for the U.S. Those who died during the Vietnam War were remembered Monday in Middlesex County.

The Traveling Tribute Vietnam Wall is on display outside of the East Brunswick Community Arts Center. The wall features the names of the more than 58,000 service members who died. It's a replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, D.C.

"There's more than 58,000 names on the wall and for so many people, it's just a number. It's an abstraction. Having this here puts a real dose of reality into it. Now you can see and measure what this country lost,” said Tony Finello, of VFW Post 133.

"If we didn't have them, we wouldn't have freedom. They gave their lives for us. We're walking free because of them,” said Carol Snekszer, of Sayreville.

Monday’s events included low-flying helicopters and a fighter jet flyover.
