Questions are swirling around a Suffolk superintendent who worked as a lifeguard on weekends. Dennis O’Hara, superintendent of the Islip School District, is no longer on the schedule to work as a lifeguard, according to the state Parks Department. It comes after O’Hara sent a letter to the community about a photo he says he took of another lifeguard on duty at Robert Moses State Park. O’Hara claims the lifeguard depicted was not in an official uniform. He says the complaint he sent to the Parks Department included the photo. O’Hara says he stands by his actions, but apologized to the board and community for creating a distraction. The school board says its attorney is reviewing the matter. At a board meeting, parents and O’Hara declined to go on camera about the incident. "
