The Nassau Department of Health says two cases of listeria in the county have been linked to the recent outbreak associated with Boar's Head products. Millions of pounds of deli meats were recalled in late July due to the listeria outbreak that has sickened dozens and killing at least three people. Stop & Shop delis on Long Island temporarily closed when the nationwide outbreak first broke out. The Nassau County DOH said in a statement, "The Nassau County Department of Health is committed to ensuring public health and safety and continues to monitor the situation closely. We advise residents who have consumed recalled Boar’s Head products and are experiencing symptoms of Listeria infection to seek immediate medical attention." "
