A new study says drivers aren't speeding toward buying electric vehicles. In a poll conducted by AAA Northeast, more than 55% of 1,800 drivers surveyed said they never plan on buying a fully electric vehicle. “About a third of the folks who were polled say that they’re not confident or slightly confident that they would even know how to drive an electric vehicle," Lauren Fabrizi, of AAA Northeast says. A total of 37% said they either already own one or predict they'll buy one by 2035, and the remaining 8% said they'll buy an electric vehicle but in 2036 or later. Last year, Gov. Ned Lamont pulled the plug on a proposal to ban the sale of gas-powered cars in Connecticut by 2035. The study also revealed driver concerns about public charging. Consumers seem to want faster, safer chargers, and more of them. "
