Though we may love and adore our neighborhood wild cats, they need care. But it's tough to get them that care because it's expensive. One rescue says that is the reason the population keeps growing. Flatbush Cats began rescuing community cats and sterilizing them by bringing them to other veterinarian offices. Last year, to make care more affordable, they opened the Flatbush Veterinary Clinic. "There are thousands of individual rescuers donating all of their free time and using their own money to tackle this problem. It's time for the city to step up," said Will Zweigart, the executive director of Flatbush Cats. The organization is expanding the clinic team to provide up to 50 spay and neuters a day. "
