News 12 Long Island holds back-to-school celebration

News 12 held a backpack giveaway at the Cradle of Aviation Museum in Garden City. Hundreds of drawstring knapsacks, school supplies and snacks were given out to local families across the Long Island. Ebony Guerrier, of Uniondale, says the community event will help her cost down on the cost of school supplies for her kids. "I think it's very essential to have these type of donation events for parents like me," says Guerrier. This is the fourth year of the community backpack giveaway. The backpacks were donated by News 12, Optimum and Warner Bros. Discovery. Sponsors included, Stop &S hop, Staples, Goya and Hal's. "
