    "

Residents of two Port Jefferson Station homes had to move out because their homes were deemed uninhabitable after Monday morning’s storm left them virtually perched on a cliff. Maddie Krabbeler and her husband, Kurt, said they were scrambling to figure out where to go. Maddie Krabbeler told News 12 that they worked hard for this home and had just gotten it “perfect.” “Our whole property just fell down into the sump," said Kurt Krabbeler. The other homeowner impacted, who didn’t want his name used, believed this severe damage could’ve been prevented because back in July, he said some of the land behind his property line had fallen. He said he was regularly in touch with the town, wanting an immediate fix so that nothing worse happened.
But Brookhaven Town Superintendent of Highways Daniel Losquadro said the town acted quickly and that a contractor was supposed to begin work Monday, the day of the storm. "
