    NYPD seeks help identifying suspect in string of iPhone thefts in Midtown

    The NYPD is asking for help in identifying a suspect believed to be responsible for a string of iPhone thefts in Midtown Manhattan. The first incident occurred on Friday, Aug. 9, near Fifth Avenue and West 37th Street. A 49-year-old woman had her iPhone 15 Pro Max snatched out of her hands by an unknown individual. Just a few days later on Aug. 15, a similar incident took place near Broadway and West 33rd Street. This time, a 33-year-old woman had her iPhone 14 Pro Max grabbed from her hands. The thief ran off, leaving her unharmed. The third theft happened on Aug. 16, in front of 420 Fifth Ave. A 64-year-old woman was targeted, with her iPhone 15 Pro Max stolen by someone who approached her from behind. The most recent incident occurred on Saturday, Aug. 17, when a 22-year-old woman had her iPhone 15 Pro Max stolen near Fifth Avenue and West 40th Street. The thief fled into a nearby train station. Police have released a photo of the suspect captured on a surveillance camera. They are urging anyone who recognizes the person or has any information to contact their Crime Stoppers Hotline at
