Storm Watch Team Meteorologist Rich Hoffman says we'll see lots of sunshine for today and nice weather. A change for Wednesday as a warm front moves in during the morning with a threat of scattered showers and thunderstorms. Hot and humid with highs near 90 and feel-like temperatures will move in behind the warm front for Wednesday afternoon. A cold front Wednesday evening will bring spotty showers and thunderstorms. Some of the storms will be strong with heavy rain, gusty winds and hail. Once the cold front passes Long Island the temperatures will drop with more comfortable levels for Thursday with highs in the 70s. A heat advisory was issued for Nassau County from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday. TODAY: Areas of fog before 9 a.m. Otherwise, sunny, with a high near 83. TONIGHT: Mostly clear, with a low around 69. WEDNESDAY: A few showers and storms before 9 a.m. Sun and clouds, hot and humid. Some scattered late afternoon and evening thunderstorms. Some could be on the strong side with heavy rain, hail and gusty winds. With a high near 86. Feel-like temperatures 90 to 97.
