Homeless man arrested, accused of attacking woman with knife at Newark airport

A woman attacked by a man with a knife at Terminal A of Newark Liberty International Airport on Sunday received treatment for injuries that were not life-threatening, Port Authority police say. It happened on the departures level of the airport around 5 p.m. Port Authority police say they witnessed a man attacking a woman with a knife on the right side of her face. The officers arrested the suspect and recovered the weapon. Jin Xiong, a 54-year-old unhoused man, faces charges of aggravated assault and unlawful possession of a weapon. Xiong is in custody at Essex County Jail. "
