Nassau County police say they made their first arrest for someone for violating Nassau County's new mask ban law. https://img.particlenews.com/image.php?url=1tGlOf_0vBxvqO700 Wesslin Omar Ramirez Castillo, 18, was walking on Spindle Road in Levittown Sunday at around 8 p.m. Police say he was dressed in black and wearing a mask to hide his identity. They say the 18-year-old was acting suspiciously and trying to hide a bulge in his waistband - which turned out to be a 14-inch knife.

Castillo is now facing charges, including violating the Mask Transparency Act and criminal possession of a weapon. Nassau County Executive Bruce Blakeman released a statement saying, “Our police officers were able to use the mask ban legislation as well as other factors to stop and interrogate an individual who was carrying a weapon with the intent to engage in a robbery. Passing this law gave police another tool to stop this dangerous criminal.” "

Like many laws this one gives the police PROBABLE CAUSE to stop and check. Glad they did. Thank you Nassau County for implementing. I'm sure many don't like it until they become a victim
