Arguments continued Wednesday in a Bronx courthouse as the family of 23-year-old Amber Ebanks fights to keep her on life support. Doctors at Montefiore have considered her brain dead, according to the family, but they want the Norwood hospital to continue care long enough to get her to a Long Island facility that has agreed to care for her. Amber’s older sister Kay told News12 the family is trying to get a passport for their father to travel to the Bronx from Jamaica to see Amber. News 12 contacted Montefiore, which said that because of patient privacy laws, it cannot provide specifics on patients. It added that “Montefiore’s decisions are guided by both government regulations and a commitment to upholding the highest standards of care for our patients.” "
