The FDNY confirmed a gas leak was the cause of the explosion that damaged several homes in East Flatbush on Thursday night. The explosion , which took place in a basement, happened just days after an annual block party on at 790 E. 37th St. The home was completely blown off its foundation after crews from National Grid checked the lines going into the homes to determine they were not the source.
