The G train is back to full service after a partial suspension that began in late June. The MTA halted part of the line as part of a modernization project to improve the nearly 100-year-old train line. During the shutdown, the MTA installed new tracks, switches and signals. Commuters are now reflecting on the changes a week into the reopening. While some riders say the service hasn’t noticeably improved, others are still optimistic. An MTA spokesperson shared that the G train runs an average of every eight minutes during the day. Riders remain hopeful for future improvements. The MTA also says it is working on signal improvements that will make the trains more reliable. That project is set to finish by 2027. "
