Mayor Eric Adams say $1.2 billion has already gone toward flooding prevention in the city. Sewer upgrades and innovative green infrastructures are part of that prevention. The mayor says the city has installed dozens of miles of new sewers and the Department of Environmental Protection plans on installing more manhole covers that provide better drainage. Climate risk data organization First Street says the Bronx has severe risk from flooding. A quarter of the properties in the Bronx are at risk of flooding in the next three decades. The DEP pinpoints major flooding hotspots in Morris Park and the Parkchester area. Thats where they plan on installing cloudburst hubs. It will feature stormwater management tools that will store, absorb and transfer water from one place to another. "
