Police: 3 men facing charges in Cedarhurst assault, robbery

Nassau police say they've arrested three brothers from Cedarhurst for assaulting and robbing a man trying to sell a bracelet on Wednesday. Detectives say an unidentified 31-year-old victim called up a number he believed was for Five Towns Jewelry Buyers in Cedarhurst. The person who answered said that the business was undergoing renovations and to instead bring the bracelet to a home on Redwood Lane. When the man arrived around 2:30 p.m., he was allegedly dragged into the home and beaten with a baseball bat. Officers say he was also threatened with a sledgehammer as he was robbed of the bracelet, his driver's license and cellphone. Daniel, Jacob and Dov Avital were arrested after an investigation. Each was charged with a number of crimes, including assault and robbery. According to White Pages, the three brothers live at the home on Redwood Lane that the victim was allegedly lured to.
