    "

A New Jersey man accused of scamming a 69-year-old woman out of $20,000 in New Hyde Park is facing charges. Authorities say the victim received a phone call from an individual who identified himself as a Walmart employee and claimed there was fraudulent activity on her account. The man said that her social security number was compromised and advised her to move money out of her bank account to protect it. Police say the victim withdrew $20,000, met a suspect in a parking lot on Jericho Turnpike and gave him the money to safeguard it. The woman “later realized she was being scammed and contacted police," according to authorities. Police say 51-year-old Tejas Kapur was arrested and charged with grand larceny. He is expected to be arraigned on Saturday. "
