Chance for light rain continues through Saturday, sun and seasonable for Sunday

Expect muggy weather with some light rain showers through Friday and into the weekend as remnants of Hurricane Helene come through. After some light rainfall Thursday, parts of Long Island are now in a slight drought, according to the U.S. Drought Monitor. It has been a very dry month and any rainfall in the forecast is expected to be light. Most of Friday will be dry and mild with the chance for some scattered showers at night and into Saturday. Long Island will be on the fringe of Hurricane Helene this weekend with clouds and some showers on Saturday. The better weekend day will be Sunday with some sunshine and a seasonable feel.
