New York City first responders headed to North Carolina over the weekend to help with rescue efforts in the aftermath of Hurricane Helene, city officials said. According to the New York City Emergency Management, the NY-Task Force 1, which is made up of the FDNY, NYPD and NYC Emergency Management, have already rescued three residents and their pets in Polk County, North Carolina.
Task Force 1 continued over the weekend to conduct searches of the area impacted by the infrastructure collapse, heavy flooding and mudslides. On Sunday, Gov.
