Police are investigating a break-in at the home of New Jersey Republican Assemblyman Paul Kanitra. Kanitra says his family is safe, but shaken up after the incident, which was caught on camera. Hazlet police say the break-in happened around 6 a.m. Wednesday in the West Keansburg part of town.
Home security video shows suspects in dark clothing breaking in, and within a minute, sprinting out the door. They’re then seen entering one of the parked cars, backing up and then speeding down the road. Hazlet police said the matter has been turned over to New Jersey State Police for further investigation. The assemblyman says they located the stolen car in New York. His wife and mother-in-law were home and are OK, but he says the suspects ripped screen windows and left a window broken. "
