Shooting in Mount Vernon leaves 1 dead, 1 injured, suspects sought

A late-night shooting in Mount Vernon left one person dead and another injured Wednesday. The shooting occurred around 10:25 p.m. near 22 West Lincoln Ave., where officers found two male victims. One victim sustained a fatal gunshot wound to the left underarm and died at Mount Vernon Hospital. A second victim suffered a gunshot wound to the left forearm and was transported to Jacobi Medical Center. That injury is not considered life-threatening.
