LOCKPORT, N.Y. (WIVB) — Wednesday night in Lockport, a public hearing on the ownership of chickens is set to take place.

Typically, the Lockport Common Council meets on the second and fourth Wednesdays of each month. This particular night, residents will have the opportunity to voice their opinions on a potential zoning code change.

The proposed revision up for discussion would allow six chickens to be kept by single-family homeowners without a special use permit.

The public hearing will begin at City Hall at 6 p.m.

people should be able to have chickens, ducks and quail.. if they are taken care of why should anyone care. they are only active during the day. when you have a family this inflais crippling, no one knows how much getting eggs daily actually helps a ton. I have birds and those eggs ensure my kids eat nutritious food and they provide excellent compost for my garden. people should mind their business, lockport is damn near country.

And now they're letting any animal to be a support animal. My neighbors got 3 freaking ducks in their house because their son is emotionally connected to them.
