BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) – The family of Ronnie Scott, who was murdered in 2014 when he was 17 years old, gathered Monday night to remember him. They said too much time has passed with no answers as to what happened.

“I’m tired of waiting I’ve been patient for 10 years, like I told homicide, I’ve been patient for 10 years and something is going to have to give,” said Daveda Patterson, Scott’s mother.

Patterson continues to speak about Scott ten years after his murder. Since then, a lot has changed. Ronnie has a son, Ronnie Jr., and a daughter, Cire. Both have grown up without knowing their dad.

“It’s hard, it’s hard because now they’re older they’re asking questions,” Patterson said. “They want to know what happened to their dad, why it had to happen.”

Patterson said Scott was hanging out with friends one day on Shirley Avenue when all of a sudden, someone started shooting. She said not a day goes by without her thinking of her son and his passion for basketball.

“I miss my baby and I wish he was here to raise his children,” Patterson said.

The Erie County District Attorney’s Office said both prosecutors and Buffalo police continue to look for information in the death of Scott. Last year, Crime Stoppers put out a reward of up to $7,500 for any information leading to an arrest.

“I want my son’s case to get solved and somebody need to talk, and his friends need to open up their mouth and tell who did it because they know who did it,” Patterson said.

Anyone with information about the death of Ronnie Scott is asked to contact the Erie County District Attorney’s Office at (716) 858-2400, Buffalo police’s confidential tip line at (716) 847-2255 or Crime Stoppers at (716) 867-6161.
