BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — A two-foot long nacho dish, “The Milano” sandwich and a unique twist on waffle fries highlight the new food offerings at Highmark Stadium for the new Bills season.

The new food items were unveiled by Delaware North at the stadium on Wednesday.

“The culinary has been focusing a lot on the guest experience, of course,” Delaware North executive chef Stephen Forman said. “Going into other areas of global flavors, looking at some of the global flavors that are becoming very popular.”

One item that the chefs are excited about is what they call “The Battle Boat,” a two-foot-long dish of waffle fries. Half of it will be Bills-themed, which includes pierogi, kapusta, bacon and sour cream for this week, while the other half will be rotated out based on Buffalo’s opponent for that day. For Sunday’s opponent, the Arizona Cardinals, it will have a southwest theme made up of southwest elote corn, limes, cojita and ancho spice.

Forman said the inspiration came from a kid’s day at Delaware North and that the dish was designed by the child of someone who works at the company.

“All of the pockets of Buffalo competing against the opponent,” Forman said. “This is a phenomenal thing.”

The two-foot-long nachos will also be brought to Highmark Stadium after becoming very popular at KeyBank Center for Buffalo Sabres games this past season.

A sandwich dubbed “The Milano” is made up of salami, chicken cutlet, shaved parmesan, sundried tomato aioli and arugula. There is also a new cheeseburger, sweet chili tenders, expanded drink choices and more. More high-end options in the suites, including barbecue, roasted chicken and dessert options, are included as well.

“[The food is] both appropriate for a stadium environment but fun to eat, fresh, chef-driven, creative items,” said Delaware North general manager for Highmark Stadium Michael Reilly.

The Bills will open up the new season at Highmark Stadium against Arizona on Sunday at 1 p.m.
