BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — A Buffalo man was hospitalized after being shot late Friday night on Hertel Avenue, a police spokesperson announced.

Police responded just after 10 p.m. to the 1000 block of Hertel where a 26-year-old man was struck by gunfire in the arm while outside, officials said.

The victim was transported away from Hertel by a civilian car, which was later stopped by police near Nottingham Terrace. The 26-year-old was then taken by ambulance to ECMC for treatment and is listed in stable condition.

An investigation into the shooting is ongoing, and anyone with information is asked to contact Buffalo police’s confidential tip line at (716) 847-2255.
