BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — A Buffalo man was arraigned on attempted murder, kidnapping and robbery charges for an alleged kidnapping followed by a shooting at a youth football game on Sunday in Buffalo, the Erie County District Attorney’s Office announced.

Officials said at 11 a.m., 29-year-old Rashaan Mallory of Buffalo allegedly forced a male and female victim into a vehicle, while armed with an illegal gun, on the first block of Moselle Street. He then allegedly stole the female victim’s cell phone, which prevented her from calling for help.

Mallory then allegedly took the victims to Emerson Park where there was a youth football game underway, according to the district attorney’s office. He is accused of robbing two more victims in the parking lot on Koons Avenue.

Officials said Mallory allegedly stole a second female victim’s phone and tried to steal chain necklaces from another male victim. During the robbery, officials said he allegedly attempted to cause the death of the male victim by firing several shots at him.

A 31-year-old man from Rochester was hit twice by gunfire and was taken to ECMC where he was treated for injuries to his leg and foot, the district attorney’s office said.

Mallory then allegedly drove away with the initial female victim inside of the vehicle and when officers tried to stop him on Koons Avenue and Sycamore Street, he allegedly refused orders, officials said. When he allegedly attempted to flee, Mallory crashed into a street sign and was then taken into custody. A loaded handgun was seized.

Mallory was arraigned on the following:

    • one count, second-degree attempted murder
    • one count, second-degree kidnapping
    • one count, first-degree assault
    • three counts, first-degree robbery
    • one count, second-degree criminal possession of a weapon
    • one count, third-degree criminal possession of a weapon
    • one count, criminal possession of a weapon on school grounds
    • one count, first-degree unlawful imprisonment
    • one count, second-degree menacing
    • one count , fifth-degree criminal possession of stolen property

He is scheduled to return for a felony hearing on Sept. 20 and was held without bail.
