    Firefighter treated after blaze on Buffalo’s East Side

    BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — A firefighter was taken to the hospital after a fire on Buffalo’s East Side early Monday morning.

    Crews began fighting the fire at a home at 23 Deshler Street around 3:30 a.m. Monday. The firefighter was transported to the hospital to be treated for heat exhaustion and was later released.

    Damage is estimated at $180,000. There were no other reported injuries inside the home.

    The cause of the fire is still unknown.

    I hope and pray that everyone involved is going to be okay. Firefighters are such hard-working, strong, and clever people. They are the first in most scenes, I am thankful for ALL City workers. I can't say thank you enough to them all for all of their hard work and dedication. Good bless and stay safe, everybody.
